Yesterday I had held a small entrance on the subject Web 2.0 tools before seven colleagues.
I have introduced:
- RSS-Feeds and RSS reader and a little personalised homepages
- Oneview
- Wikis (ZUM-Wiki, Wiki BBS Winsen, Wikispaces)
- Zotero (unfortunately, I have not created any more)
Everything failed more or less what could fail. I had asked the participants before to instal some PlugIns, so that we can surf together through the web. OK, most had installed these PlugIns, unfortunately, we had no WLAN and only one LAN connection. This was called, however, hold a seminar paper. Further I had introduced a Social Bookmarking respected by me to platform. Of course it interested to my comrades-in-arms what one under the concept Metal (our field is a metal technology) everything on this platform can find and what was, we have found immediately 3 links with piglet's junk what I would like to explain not further to the headword Metal. Well, there I could not keep back a communication of the doers of this platform, luckily I know the authors of the Social Bookmarking platform quite well. (And I know that the operators of this service work constantly on the fact that Spammer do not get out of control.) But with me a question gets stuck: Can I and may use such services, or even the Internet at school? I would say first of all, yes, but should receive pupil, e.g., something to the word processing programme LATEX they will search an amount of undesirable hits with big security. Puh, and with the pupils whose are 15 and 18 years old between … Against such crazy runners I cannot protect them! (This calls I learn and teach, live.) Ok, die meisten hatten diese PlugIns installiert, leider hatten wir kein WLAN und nur einen LAN Anschluss. Das hieß, doch ein Referat halten. Weiter hatte ich eine von mir geschätzte Social Bookmarking Plattform vorgestellt. Natürlich interessierte es meinen Mitstreitern, was man unter dem Begriff Metall (unser Fach ist Metalltechnik) alles auf dieser Plattform finden kann und was war, wir haben gleich 3 Links mit Ferkelkram, was ich nicht weiter ausführen möchte, zum Stichwort Metall gefunden. Naja, da konnte ich mir eine Mitteilung an die Macher dieser Plattform nicht verkneifen, zum Glück kenne ich die Autoren der Social Bookmarking Plattform ganz gut. (Und ich weiß, dass die Betreiber dieses Dienstes ständig daran arbeiten, dass Spammer nicht überhand nehmen.) Aber bei mir bleibt eine Frage hängen: Kann und darf ich solche Dienste, oder gar das Internet in der Schule nutzen? Ich würde erst einmal sagen ja, aber sollen Schüler z.B. etwas zum Textverarbeitungsprogramm LATEX suchen werden sie mit großer Sicherheit eine Menge unerwünschter Treffer erhalten. Puh, und das bei Schülern, die zwischen 15 und 18 Jahre alt sind… Vor solchen Irrläufern schützen kann ich sie nicht! (Das nenne ich lernen und lehren, live.)
But there is also something positive to report:
In the professional seminar metal technology in the teacher seminar Oldenburg we have agreed on it to use a Wiki. I have opened the Wiki under Wikispaces. Unfortunately, I could not persuade my colleagues to form it publicly. But how one says so nicely: “Rome was also not built on one day.” Leider konnte ich meine Kollegen nicht davon überzeugen, es öffentlich zu gestalten. Aber wie heißt es so schön: “Rom wurde auch nicht an einem Tag erbaut.”
Further other people from the study seminar have appealed to me still on the subject Web 2.0 and would get to know with pleasure more about that. Time see, a small tree was planted …, now one means to pour.
