If one must give references at the end of a work, there are many ways which lead, as everybody knows, to Rome. A way leads about the Firefox Plugin Zotero to generate office or MS Word a bibliography from own Internet searches a free literature management, with the possibility in Open.
Which fine things can one do with Zotero?
With Zotero one can collect, primarily, documents and their Metadaten in the web and on his calculator and administer. I understand by Metadaten the usual references like author's name, appearance place, title, ISBN number, publication date, summary, … These data will transfer as a rule simply by mouse click in the address line on the suitable badge into Zotero.

Boringly? However, so and now it goes off, the functions known to me sometimes quickly listed:
- Notes to the suitable documents write,
- Documents and the notes verschlagworten (day-to),
- in HTML documents marks carry out,
- Of course all information in folders puts together, look and administer,
- the new version 2.x offers the possibility to publish the whole documents and registrations also on-line in the web (call in, nevertheless, sometimes on me
), - therefore it is to be synchronised possibly the records with several computers,
- Exchange with other people or groups on Zotero.org.
Quite a determining thing is that that one gets these whole references again on the paper. In addition one needs another free Plugin for MS Word or Open office. With it it is to be generated possibly literature lists by mouse click. I have been of use Zotero for my paper and was to be had to attack thankfully no thoughts whether I must distinguish now with a comma, semicolon or a colon. Zotero offers dozens precast Zitierungsstile. One finds a little further German-speaking instructions here. (By the way, one can just insert the references from Zotero in a web log article! This is a sign with the fence post for public scientists …
Zotero bietet dutzende vorgefertigte Zitierungsstile an. )
What deals Zotero now with a Wordpress Blog?
With a web log one himself appears as an author and who would like to be cited as an author, something should also act for it to make it to his readers lighter to read in Metadaten in Literaturverwaltungsprogramme. Literaturverwaltungsprogramme like Citavi, final mark and Zotero are quite widespread and it is possible from data banks like various libraries to measure Google Books and Amazon literature data. Also YouTube offers a suitable interface. If a public scientist (one more sign with the fence post …) liked to be cited from his web log in a work, the reader types rather awkwardly these data in the literature management, however, it must not be like that. Authors freely gehosteten Wordpress of web log have to instal the possibility two free Plugins which it the reader in the situation moves the Metadaten virtually by mouse click into the literature management to integrate. Both Plugins can be called directly about the Wordpress Pluginistallation and be activated. These Plugins are: Auch YouTube bietet eine entsprechende Schnittstelle an.
- unAPI from the unAPI server (at the moment version 1.4.2) and
- COinS of ScholarPress Coins (at the moment version 1.0)
Simply in the Wordpress Dashboard about “Plugins of installation” both Plugins appeal, instal and activate – ready Max is The potential reader it will thank! Who would like to know now more above these interfaces, that is not in good hands with me, because I am even a user and have from the whole program stuff no notion. (However, would please me if it could explain one to me.) Maybe sometimes at library 2.0 look and more …. Patrick Danowski has already written several articles about Zotero and from him I also have the idea.
Why do I blog this?: I would simply like to help to spread unAPI and state kind COinS. Though I am no scientist, but still use with pleasure the possibilities which offer me Literaturverwaltungsprogramme like Zotero. For public scientists it should belong to the good tone her works them in the web publish in such a way to process that one can train them fast in the called programmes. unAPI and COinS makes this possible!
